Construction is underway on a new 4-acre park in northeast Oklahoma City. The former Dewey Elementary School, 3500 N. Lindsay Ave., was purchased by the City of Oklahoma City in December 2024 from Oklahoma City Public Schools to develop a new park in Ward 7.

Feb. 21 update: A public hearing during the Oklahoma City Council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 25, about an ordinance that would allow accessory dwellings (AKA “backyard dwellings”) to be built within Oklahoma City’s core, is being deferred to a later date. The agenda item was postponed.
