OKC ice and snow situation update Feb. 18
Public Works crews are salting along OKC snow routes in 12-hour shifts around the clock until street conditions improve. The City of Oklahoma City offices will be operating with limited staff on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Please do business online or over the phone.

Weather delays trash, recycling and bulky waste collections for OKC Utilities customers
Due to anticipated weather and road conditions, Oklahoma City Solid Waste Management has postponed Big Blue trash cart and Big Green recycling cart collections for Tuesday, Feb. 18. The makeup collection day for Tuesday customers will be Saturday, Feb. 22.

OKC Parks recreation centers closed Tuesday, Feb. 18, and Wednesday, Feb. 19
OKC Parks recreation centers, community centers, performing arts centers, senior centers and gyms will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 18, and Wednesday, Feb. 19. All outdoor parks will be open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Martin Park Nature Center and Will Rogers Gardens will keep their regular winter hours.

OKC Utilities shares tips to prepare your pipes for freezing weather

Ruptured water main closes portion of North Pennsylvania Avenue; repairs underway
OKC Utilities Line Maintenance crews are working to repair a ruptured 20-inch water main near the intersection of North Pennsylvania Avenue and Northwest 16th Street. All northbound and southbound lanes of Pennsylvania Avenue are temporarily closed from NW 15th Street to NW 16th Street.

Public Works crews ready to respond to freezing weather
Oklahoma City’s Public Works Department will report to work at midnight tonight to respond to potential freezing on bridges and overpasses along the City’s snow routes, Trucks mounted with salt spreaders will treat slick spots if ice begins to form.

OKC’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center to temporarily close Feb. 11 for 30 days
The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will temporarily close for maintenance starting Feb. 11, with a projected re-opening date of March 13. The floors will be refinished with a protective coating, which prevents the migration of hazardous chemicals through the Center’s concrete flooring.

Oklahoma City Council designated Ross Heights and Stockyards City as new Strong Neighborhood Initiative (SNI) areas earlier this month. SNI is a targeted neighborhood revitalization program, funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, that works alongside neighborhoods.

Repairs progress on NW 122nd Street water main break
The break caused significant road damage, resulting in the closure of all four lanes just west of MacArthur on NW 122nd Street. Utilities officials estimate that repairs to the water main will be completed late this evening.
