Yesterday, the Oklahoma City Council approved a $500,000, four-year Brownfields Assessment grant from the Environmental Protection Agency. Brownfields are underused properties that may have environmental contaminants that complicate their redevelopment.

Starting at 5 a.m. on Tues., May 27, a 400-foot section of Melrose Lane west of Rockwell Ave. will close as contractors working for the Oklahoma City Utilities Department begin replacing a one-mile stretch of 42-inch water main. This is the first phase of a larger project to replace the water main.

Today, the Oklahoma City Council voted to name a popular OKC Soccer complex after business leader and philanthropist C.B. Cameron. C.B. Cameron and his father, C.W. Cameron, co-founded American Fidelity and First Fidelity Bank. C.B. died in an airplane crash in 1977.
