    Drawings for Oklahoma City duck blinds set for Sept. 14

    The annual drawing for waterfowl blind sites at Lake Stanley Draper and Lake Overholser/Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge will be Saturday, Sept. 14. Registration opens at 10 a.m., and the drawing will be at 11 a.m. in the concession facility at the Lake Draper Marina, 8301 SE 104th St.

    September is EMSAcare month in Oklahoma City. From Sept. 1 to 30, Oklahoma City residents may change their membership status with the ambulance service. EMSAcare covers the out-of-pocket expenses for emergency ambulance transports ending at a hospital ER anywhere in the EMSA service area.

  • New bike lane opens in NE OKC

    A new 3.3-mile bike route is now open in NE Oklahoma City. The lane connects neighborhoods such as Capitol View, Springlake, and Culbertson to resources such as Metro Tech’s Springlake Campus, Homeland grocery store and the MAPS 3 Community Health, Recreation and Wellness Center.

    The City of Oklahoma City and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) hosted an interagency exercise in August to better understand heat, heat risk and the populations most at risk when a prolonged heat wave occurs in OKC.
