Will you be our Valentine? Valentine’s Day fun is meant for everyone. OKC Parks is holding an Adaptive Valentine Dance at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Sellers Recreation Center, 8301 S Villa Ave. This dance is for anyone 17 or older with disabilities. There will be music, dancing and more.

In late December, the City of Oklahoma City closed on a 4.22-acre property, which includes the former Dewey Elementary School located at 3500 N Lindsay Ave. The Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation Department and the Planning Department’s Strong Neighborhoods Initiative (SNI) requested to the purchase.

OKC residents can drop off natural Christmas trees for OKC Parks to mulch from Dec. 26 through Jan. 15. They can be dropped off, and mulch can be picked up from dawn until dusk in designated areas at the following parks: Will Rogers Park and Wheeler Park.

Kick off trout fishing season at Route 66 Park, 9901 NW 23rd St., at noon on Dec. 16. Kids 5 - 15 will get a chance to catch a rainbow trout. All the tackle will be supplied and can be taken home after the derby courtesy of the Police Athletic League.
