Performing Arts

The OKC Parks Department has a robust performing arts division. Averaging four main shows each year, ranging from musicals to theatrical productions, OKC Parks continues to produce stories to inspire and entertain its audiences.

In addition to the large-scale theatrical productions, OKC Parks teaches acting, dance and music classes at the Northwest Optimist Center and Taylor Performing Arts Center.

Some of the most recent productions include:

Gem of the Ocean, a play by American playwright August Wilson.

And Then There Were None, a mystery novel by English writer Agatha Christie.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman with additional material by Jay Reiss.

A Raisin in the Sun, written by Lorraine Hansberry.

Godspell, a musical by John-Michael Tebelak.
