Construction begins on football fields in Edwards Park
For decades, Edwards Park, 1515 N Bryant Ave., has been home to many youth football programs. Now, the park’s athletic fields are getting some much-anticipated upgrades. Contractors are scrapping the existing three youth football fields and replacing them with four new football fields.

Oklahoma City’s Juneteenth holiday schedule
The Juneteenth (Wednesday, June 19) holiday schedule for City of OKC services: Trash, recycling and bulky waste collection services are not affected. Free fares for EMBARK buses, OKC Streetcar and RAPID. OKC buses operate on a weekend schedule.

Oklahoma City Council adopts 2025 budget
The Oklahoma City Council on Tuesday adopted the City Manager’s 2025 budget. Visit okc.gov/budget to see the budget book. The operating budget, which pays for day-to-day operations, is $918 million.The adopted budget includes funding for 5,117 full-time positions, an increase of nine from FY 24.

Teen, preteen musicians invited to Genesis HBCU Band Challenge with OKC Parks
Young musicians aged 10-16 are invited to participate in the Genesis HBCU Band Challenge, a summer-long music camp. Each camp session will be held at Pitts Recreation Center, 1920 N Kate Ave., from 5:30 to 8 p.m. every Monday and Thursday beginning June 3.
