Greenway River Trail and a portion of the South Oklahoma River Trail temporarily closed
A section of the Greenway River Trail between the Boathouse District and Eastern Avenue is closed for one year, and a section of the south side of the Oklahoma River Trail between Eastern and Eagle Lake will close for nine months.

MAPS 4 to begin construction on pedestrian bridge over Oklahoma River
Construction has begun on a bike and pedestrian bridge that will span the Oklahoma River at Eastern Avenue, north of OKANA Resort and Indoor Waterpark. The MAPS 4 pedestrian bridge will connect the trail on the south shore to the four-mile Greenway River Trail on the north shore.

Oklahoma City’s Memorial Day holiday schedule
No trash or recycling pickup. Makeup day Wednesday, May 29. Bulky waste pickup not affected. Free fares for EMBARK buses, OKC Streetcar and RAPID. OKC buses operate on a weekend schedule. RAPID operates on a 30-minute frequency from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. OKC Streetcar operates on a regular schedule.

OKC spraygrounds, family aquatic centers set to open Memorial Day weekend
It’s that time of year again when area school-aged children trade their textbooks for bathing suits and head out to their local pools for summer fun. OKC Parks officially opens its 16 spraygrounds, two family aquatic centers and community pool on Saturday, May 25.

Community invited to Will Rogers Garden’s 34th annual Garden Festival in the Park plant and garden sale May 18
Garden lovers can purchase annuals, perennials and bedding plants, along with garden-related items from over 50 vendors selling everything from begonias to handmade garden art. Festival goers can also interact with fluffy alpacas and adorable therapy goats.

Work underway to repair retaining wall along portion of Lake Hefner Trail
One-tenth of a mile of Lake Hefner Trail between Hobie Point Road and Portland Avenue, near Stars and Stripes Park, is closed for 90 days so contractors can fix a retaining wall.
