    OKC Parks reopens boardwalk in Route 66 Park

    The wetlands boardwalk is about 600 feet long and winds through the reedy marsh just west of Lake Overholser. It’s the perfect place to spot waterfowl and other native birds, like scissor-tailed flycatchers and red-winged blackbirds.

  • Lake Canton water release to replenish Lake Hefner, boosting OKC primary water source

    The Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust (OCWUT) is working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) to draw water from Lake Canton in northwest Oklahoma. The water is needed to help increase water levels at Lake Hefner, which serves as a primary water source for the City of Oklahoma City.

    Halloween Harvest will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at six locations throughout the city. These come-and-go events are free, and registration is not required. Activities vary by location, but highlights include trick-or-treating, games, face painting, arts and crafts, food and surprises.

    OKC Parks and the North OKC Soccer Club officially cut the ribbon on the first phase of remodeling and expansion at C.B. Cameron Sports Complex. The $5 million athletic complex is funded through the Better Streets, Safer City bond program, passed by voters in 2017.

    Drawings for Oklahoma City duck blinds set for Sept. 14

    The annual drawing for waterfowl blind sites at Lake Stanley Draper and Lake Overholser/Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge will be Saturday, Sept. 14. Registration opens at 10 a.m., and the drawing will be at 11 a.m. in the concession facility at the Lake Draper Marina, 8301 SE 104th St.
