    Crews install new Bricktown Canal nanobubble technology

    Five Moleaer Nanobubble Generators will release microscopic oxygen bubbles that are 1 million times smaller than your typical aquarium aerator bubble. At this size, the bubbles actually drift to the bottom of the canal and break down the nutrient load, improving water quality.

    The City of Oklahoma City has released a draft of the Vision Zero Action Plan designed to reduce fatal crashes, improve roadway safety and create a safer transportation system throughout Oklahoma City. The plan is available for public review and comments on the project website until Jan. 8.

    Instead of leaving your live Christmas tree at the curb, turn it into free mulch with OKC Parks. OKC residents can drop off their natural Christmas trees between Dec. 26 – Jan. 15 for OKC Parks to mulch at one of two locations: Will Rogers Park or Wheeler Park.

    Road improvements limit access to Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center, James E. Stewart Golf Course

    The northernmost portion of Frederick Douglass Avenue will be closed through January for road replacement and repair. This closure will affect access to the Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center and the James E. Stewart Golf Course. Patrons should now turn east on Frederick Douglass Avenue from MLK.

    Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation has announced 2024-2025 winter closure dates for its facilities. Community centers, performing arts centers and gyms will be closed from Monday, Dec. 23, through Friday, Jan. 3. Recreation centers and senior centers will be closed from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1.
