City leaders make progress on MAPS 4 sidewalks
Construction on the first two phases of MAPS 4 sidewalks is underway citywide, continuing the momentum toward making Oklahoma City more walkable and safer for pedestrians. Over the next year, the MAPS 4 penny will be used to build more than 35 sidewalks, with more planned through 2031.

Repairs progress on NW 122nd Street water main break
The break caused significant road damage, resulting in the closure of all four lanes just west of MacArthur on NW 122nd Street. Utilities officials estimate that repairs to the water main will be completed late this evening.

Applications now available for Oklahoma City’s Youth Council

Oklahoma City announces new Municipal Court Administrator
City Manager Craig Freeman announced today the selection of Mankinta Holloway as Oklahoma City’s Municipal Court Administrator. He will start on March 7. Holloway has worked as the Court Administrator for the City of Birmingham, Alabama, since 2013.

Outreach workers to survey people experiencing homelessness across Oklahoma City Jan. 23
Oklahoma City’s annual Point-in-Time (PIT) count of people experiencing homelessness in Oklahoma City will be held on Jan. 23. The count provides an annual snapshot of the number of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness in Oklahoma City on a single day.

Oklahoma City Council election is Feb. 11 for representation in Wards 3 and 7
Polls will open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, to vote in the Oklahoma City Council general election in Wards 3 and 7. The nonpartisan election will decide who represents those Wards on City Council for the next four-year term.

OKC Recreation Centers closed Jan. 9
OKC Parks recreation centers, community centers, performing arts centers, senior centers, and gyms will be closed Thursday, January 9. All outdoor parks will be open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Martin Park Nature Center and Will Rogers Gardens will keep their regular winter hours.

Crews complete first MAPS 4 bus stop improvements in northeast Oklahoma City
The first MAPS 4 bus stop improvements are complete and open for service in northeast Oklahoma City. Phase 1 of the project includes $4.3 million to improve 140 bus stops across the city that were deemed the highest priority based on daily ridership.

Start the year off with a clean slate by addressing your outstanding warrant in Oklahoma City Municipal Court at a reduced cost. Anyone with a warrant for an unpaid municipal ticket for a class “a” offense issued on or before Dec. 31, 2022, is eligible for the program.
