OKC Utilities Line Maintenance crews are continuing work on an eight-inch water main that ruptured yesterday near NW 122nd Street and MacArthur Boulevard. Crews worked through the night to locate the break and excavate the damaged line.
The break caused significant road damage, resulting in the closure of all four lanes just west of MacArthur on NW 122nd Street. Utilities officials estimate that repairs to the water main will be completed late this evening.
Crews have re-routed water distribution to those in the area, allowing customers to maintain water service while the repairs are underway. Customers without service are asked to call the Utilities Emergency Dispatch team at (405) 297-2833 and provide an address so crews can investigate the matter.
Following the water main repair, crews from the Public Works Department will begin making necessary road repairs. Traffic in the area will remain diverted until road repairs are completed.
