About the Strong Neighborhoods Initiative
Want to learn more about SNI?
In 2010, City leadership recognized the need for a more comprehensive and coordinated approach to neighborhood revitalization.
At the direction of the City Council, the Planning Department developed a new program framework, the Strong Neighborhoods Initiative (SNI). SNI seeks to improve neighborhoods and public investments in a more holistic, concentrated approach versus scattered throughout the city. Staff works with residents and stakeholders to develop revitalization strategies.
The SNI program has completed or currently works in the following neighborhoods:
- Classen Ten Penn (2013-2018)
- Classen’s North Highland Parked (2013-2017)
- Culbertson's East Highland (2013-2020)
- Capitol View (2018-2023)
- Capitol Hill (2018-2025)
- Metro Park (2020-2025)
- MLK (2023 - Current)
- Stockyards (2025 - Current)
- Ross Heights/Pitts Park (2025 - Current)
