On Tuesday, August 1, the Oklahoma City Council approved the School Resource Officer (SRO) contract with Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) for the 2023-24 school year. It requires the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) to provide school resource officers for OKCPS schools.

Oklahoma City’s Animal Shelter invites residents and animal lovers to its reopening adoption weekend July 21-23. All adoptable dogs and cats are up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, treated for worms and spayed or neutered. About 200 dogs and 10 cats are available for adoption.
