MAPS 4 to begin construction on pedestrian bridge over Oklahoma River
Construction has begun on a bike and pedestrian bridge that will span the Oklahoma River at Eastern Avenue, north of OKANA Resort and Indoor Waterpark. The MAPS 4 pedestrian bridge will connect the trail on the south shore to the four-mile Greenway River Trail on the north shore.

MAPS 4 to improve 140 EMBARK bus stops in 2024
The City of Oklahoma City will improve 140 EMBARK bus stops this year in the first phase of the MAPS 4 Bus Stop Improvements project. The enhancements will provide ADA-accessible, covered transit shelters with security lighting, trash receptacles and bike racks.

Work underway to repair retaining wall along portion of Lake Hefner Trail
One-tenth of a mile of Lake Hefner Trail between Hobie Point Road and Portland Avenue, near Stars and Stripes Park, is closed for 90 days so contractors can fix a retaining wall.

Debbie Miller selected as City’s next Public Works Director
City Manager Craig Freeman announced this week the hiring of Assistant City Engineer Debbie Miller, P.E. to be the City’s next Public Works Director/City Engineer, effective immediately. She is the first female Public Works Director/City Engineer in Oklahoma City’s history.

OKC Street crews ready to treat snow routes
Oklahoma City Street crews are monitoring the weather ahead of snow and ice forecast for Central Oklahoma on Sunday and Monday. Trucks mounted with plows and salt spreaders are ready to respond if snow or ice begins to accumulate along the City’s snow routes.

Portion of North Western Avenue closed for water line repair
The southbound lanes of N. Western Ave. between NW 138th and NW 142nd Streets will be closed to traffic while crews with the Oklahoma City Utilities Department repair a 12” water main. Northbound traffic will be narrowed to one lane to allow for southbound traffic.

Portion of South Eastern Avenue closed for water line installation
Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 29, a portion of South Eastern Avenue between Southeast 15th Street and American Indian Boulevard will be closed for about four months while contractors for the Oklahoma City Utilities Department install a new water line in the area.
