A section of the Greenway River Trail between the Boathouse District and Eastern Avenue is closed for one year, and a section of the south side of the Oklahoma River Trail between Eastern and Eagle Lake will close for nine months.

Construction has begun on a bike and pedestrian bridge that will span the Oklahoma River at Eastern Avenue, north of OKANA Resort and Indoor Waterpark. The MAPS 4 pedestrian bridge will connect the trail on the south shore to the four-mile Greenway River Trail on the north shore.

Oklahoma City Council set a Citywide election for Aug. 27 to increase the hotel tax from 5.50% to 9.25%. The tax is charged to people who stay overnight in a hotel or rent a home-sharing property in OKC.
