Oklahoma City’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed Friday, Dec. 20, for maintenance and reopen Saturday, Dec. 21. The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 1621 S Portland Ave. accepts a wide variety of hazardous materials from residents’ homes year-round.

The northernmost portion of Frederick Douglass Avenue will be closed through January for road replacement and repair. This closure will affect access to the Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center and the James E. Stewart Golf Course. Patrons should now turn east on Frederick Douglass Avenue from MLK.
