Former convention center skybridge and wall scheduled for removal June 9-13; streetcar service interruption

Art partnership between OKC and Museum of Art features work from local artist Ernesto Sanchez in Convention Center
Celebrated local artist Ernesto Sanchez’s expansive 9 x 20-foot oil on panel “Massive Communication” is now featured on the third floor of the Oklahoma City Convention Center thanks to a reciprocal public art loan agreement between OKC, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and the Convention Center.

Jesse Rush selected as OKC’s Public Transportation and Parking Director
City Manager Craig Freeman has named Jesse Rush administrator of the Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority (COTPA) and Director of the City of Oklahoma City’s Public Transportation and Parking Department.

OKC voters approve hotel tax increase
Tourism in Oklahoma City will get a much-needed boost following voter approval on Aug. 27 to increase the City’s portion of the hotel tax from 5.50% to 9.25%. The new rate will take effect Oct. 1. The tax is charged to people who stay overnight in a hotel or rent a home-sharing property in OKC.

New bike lane opens in NE OKC
A new 3.3-mile bike route is now open in NE Oklahoma City. The lane connects neighborhoods such as Capitol View, Springlake, and Culbertson to resources such as Metro Tech’s Springlake Campus, Homeland grocery store and the MAPS 3 Community Health, Recreation and Wellness Center.
