City of Oklahoma City to host hiring event on May 6

People looking for full-time career opportunities in the construction field with Oklahoma City’s Public Works Department are invited to attend a come-and-go hiring event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Building 3 of the City’s Central Maintenance Facility, 3738 SW 15th St.

Apply online at okc.gov/careers by May 4 or apply on-site the day of the event.

Candidates must bring a valid photo ID to the hiring event. Those who test and receive passing scores of 70%+ will be interviewed and may receive a conditional job offer. Upon acceptance of the job offer, a background, physical exam, and drug test will be required.

Available positions and pay

  • Crew Worker II – $17.22 – $26.77 per hour

    Requirements: Must be 18+ with a valid Class B (or better) Commercial Driver's License.

  • Construction Equipment Operator I – $20.55 – $31.77 per hour

    Requirements: Must be 18+ with a valid Class A (without Automatic Transmission or Tractor Trailer Restriction) Commercial Driver’s License.

  • Construction Equipment Operator II – $22.43 – $34.71 per hour

    Requirements: Must be 18+ with a valid Class A (without Automatic Transmission or Tractor Trailer Restriction) Commercial Driver’s License.
