OKC Parks hosts “Turkey Shoot” free throw and cornhole contests across the city

Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation invites the community to take their shot at winning a free turkey in the annual “Turkey Shoot” free throw and cornhole competitions.

Six community centers will host free throw competitions beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25:

  • Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center, 909 Frederick Douglas Avenue.
  • Macklanburg Community Center, 2234 NW 117th Street.
  • Melrose Community Center, 7800 W Melrose Lane.
  • Minnis Lakeview Community Center, 12520 NE 36th Street.
  • Pitts Community Center, 1920 N Kate Avenue.
  • Southern Oaks Community Center, 400 SW 66th Street.

Each location will give away turkeys in four age groups: 6-8, 9-12, 13-17, and 18 and older. Participation is free. Registration is not required, but participants must be signed in on-site before the competition begins at 6 p.m.

Two senior centers will also host cornhole competitions for residents age 50 and older beginning at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25:

  • Pete White Health & Wellness Center, 4021 S Walker Avenue.
  • Will Rogers Senior Center, 3501 Pat Murphy Drive.

Participation is free. Registration is not required, but participants must be signed in before the competition begins at 1 p.m.
