OKC Parks hiring full- and part-time jobs at Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center

Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation has full- and part-time job opportunities at its new state-of-the-art recreational facility, Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center, located at 909 Fredrick Douglass Ave.

Recreation Leader II or III

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to help guests check-in, assist with membership enrollment and answer questions they may have.

Other duties include coaching group fitness classes, helping guests with machines and equipment and making every guest feel safe and welcome.

This 29-hour-per-week, part-time position offers morning, afternoon and evening shifts Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday shifts from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. There are five to six positions available. Must be age 18+ to apply, and the job requires a background check and drug test.

Parks Programs Specialist

The Parks Program Specialist will have the opportunity to coach group fitness classes and assist other instructors with a variety of programs.

Other duties include helping guests with machines and equipment, assisting with membership enrollment and making every guest’s visit an enjoyable one.

Morning, afternoon and evening shifts are available Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Saturday shifts are from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. This is a 29-hour-per-week  part-time job with one position available. Must be age 18+ to apply, and the job requires a background check and drug test.

Recreation Leader I 

In this position, employees work as a fitness center attendant to help guests with check-in, membership enrollment and answering questions they may have.

Other duties may include promoting the Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center programs and classes, assisting guests with equipment and helping maintain a safe, organized and fun fitness center.

Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are available Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a part-time position hiring five to six applicants. Must be age 16+ to apply, and the job requires a background check and drug test.
