The Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area Public Schools (OCMAPS) Trust is hosting community meetings in August to discuss new gymnasium additions at four elementary schools.
During the meetings, parents, teachers, students and community members can review the final design for the gymnasium additions.
The schools and meetings are:
Wilson Arts Integration School
Aug. 4 from 6-7 p.m. in the old gymnasium
501 NW 21st Street
Edgemere Elementary David R. Lopez Community School
Aug. 11 from 6-7 p.m. in the library
3200 N Walker Ave.
Green Pastures Elementary
Aug. 15 from 6-7 p.m. in the cafeteria
4300 N Post Rd. in Spencer
Spencer Elementary
Aug. 18 from 6-7 p.m. in the cafeteria
8900 NE 50th St. in Spencer
Each gymnasium addition project is funded by district school bond money.
Voters in the Oklahoma City Public Schools District voted in 2007 to approve a $248.3 million bond issue to improve schools in the district. The OCMAPS Trust manages $114.9 million of those funds, which are allocated to gymnasium, classroom and stadium projects.
