Oklahoma City Council and other City meetings return to videoconference

Post Date:02/11/2021

The Oklahoma City Council and many other City boards, trusts and commissions will return to virtual meetings starting Feb. 16.

Governor Kevin Stitt signed legislation yesterday. reinstating temporary modifications to the Open Meeting Act allowing for virtual public meetings. Senate Bill 1031 expires 30 days after the COVID-19 emergency declaration ends or Feb. 15, 2022, whichever comes first.

“We held successful virtual Council meetings from March 31 until the executive order expired on November 15, 2020,” said City Clerk Frances Kersey. “The move back to teleconference meetings allows Councilmembers, staff and the public to safely conduct City business without gathering in person.”

The agendas and supporting documents for every City of Oklahoma City public meeting will be posted as normal to okc.gov/agenda. Agendas will include instructions to participate for all meetings conducted by teleconference. Canceled meetings will be posted to okc.gov/clerk.

A recording of the meeting will be posted as normal later in the day to the City’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/cityofokc
