OKC homeowners asked to report flood damage to 211

Post Date:05/24/2015

Oklahoma City residents whose homes were flooded by the Memorial Day weekend rains are asked to call 211 beginning at noon on Sunday, May 24 to report if their homes, mobile homes or apartments were flooded.

The information will be used to identify portions of the City that may have been flooded and to help City staff plan and conduct a preliminary damage assessment of the affected area.  City staff will not contact homeowners or conduct a detailed site assessment like their insurance adjuster would.

Calling 211 does not register homeowners for any type of emergency or disaster assistance. Residents needing disaster relief or assistance should contact the American Red Cross at (405) 228-9500.

This is only for Oklahoma City homeowners who experienced flooding over the Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25, 2015.  It is not for previous storm, tornado or flood events.
