OKC Council Meeting Notes: April 19, 2016

The Oklahoma City Council meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays on the third floor of City Hall, 200 N Walker Ave. Live broadcasts are available on Cox Channel 20, YouTube and okc.gov. A recording of each meeting is then added to the City's YouTube channel.

Event Permits

The Council approved a permit Tuesday for:

  • SW 29th Business Improvement District Association's "Festival Dia del Niño en La 29 (SW 29th Street Children's Day Festival)," April 24.

Council approves allocation of TIF funds for Metro Tech, Oklahoma County projects 

The Council voted Tuesday to approve the allocation of tax increment finance (TIF) funds to support redevelopment projects for Metro Tech and Oklahoma County. Metro Technology Centers plans to renovate its South Bryant Campus at 4901 S Bryant Ave., and the Council voted to allocate $5 million in TIF assistance for the project. The Oklahoma County project received a $3.4 million allocation, and plans call for several repair and improvement projects at the Oklahoma County Annex, 320 Robert S. Kerr Ave., and Oklahoma County Detention Center, 201 N Shartel Ave.

Redesigned OKC.gov to launch May 16

The redesigned okc.gov will launch May 16, making access to City of OKC services and information easier on a mobile-friendly and modern website. The website is getting its first major redesign since the last millennium, and the launch of the redesigned site will coincide with the rollout of a new mobile app with closer integration with the Action Center. An update on the project provided at Tuesday's Council meeting focused on the ways the site will be easier for residents to use.
