Council approves MAPS 3 Modern Streetcar route option connecting future Convention Center

Oklahoma City Community Foundation to create public tree inventory
The Oklahoma City Community Foundation will soon create an inventory of up to 20,000 trees in the OKC parks and trails system to help the City manage trees and educate residents about tree species. The inventory, valued at $120,800, was accepted as a gift by a Council vote Tuesday. The inventory will create manageable data to help the City protect and manage its trees, and identify areas with a lack of tree cover to work with community groups interested in planting them. A public database will also help residents learn about the kinds of trees that are thriving near where they live. The Foundation's gift is funded by the Margaret Annis Boys Trust and state Forestry Services Department.
