Today, area leaders commemorated the location of the future MAPS 4 multipurpose stadium with a flag raising event. In the days and months ahead, the flagpole will carry various emblems, starting with rotating “OKC for Soccer” and “OKC es Fútbol” flags, until the stadium is completed in spring 2027.

Construction on the first two phases of MAPS 4 sidewalks is underway citywide, continuing the momentum toward making Oklahoma City more walkable and safer for pedestrians. Over the next year, the MAPS 4 penny will be used to build more than 35 sidewalks, with more planned through 2031.

The first MAPS 4 bus stop improvements are complete and open for service in northeast Oklahoma City. Phase 1 of the project includes $4.3 million to improve 140 bus stops across the city that were deemed the highest priority based on daily ridership.

Today Oklahoma City Council approved a real estate donation agreement with Echo to donate nine acres of land, located in the vicinity of South Shields Boulevard and SE 3rd Street, identified as the site for the MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium.

Oklahoma City Council approved final plans today for a new, modern animal shelter as part of MAPS 4. The new 69,602-square-foot facility will replace OKC Animal Welfare’s current facility, offering enhanced services for animals and residents while significantly expanding capacity.

The Oklahoma City Council voted this week to select the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City as the operating partner for the MAPS 4 senior health and wellness center project. The project includes $16.7 million for a fifth senior wellness center and $15 million for operations, maintenance and scholarships.
