Adoption fees for dogs at the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter will be waived through Aug. 31, courtesy of shelter transfer partner Nexus Pets, Arnall Community Funds and the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.
“This generous donation allows us to extend our mission of finding loving homes for every animal in our care,” OKC Animal Welfare Superintendent Jon Gary said. “It helps us remove barriers to adoption and increase the chances our larger canine companions will find forever homes."
Potential adopters can visit adoptable dogs at the OKC Animal Shelter, 2811 SE 29th St., Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. All adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations.
For more information on available dogs or the adoption process, visit okc.gov/animalwelfare.
People who can’t adopt are encouraged to foster, volunteer or spread the word about adoptable pets to friends, family, coworkers and neighbors.
