The City of Oklahoma City selected Community Health Centers of Oklahoma as the operator of the new MAPS 3 Senior Health and Wellness Center at NE 36th Street and Lincoln Boulevard.
As operator of the facility, Community Health Centers of Oklahoma will provide activities, recreation, health services and resources inside the 44,810-square-foot senior wellness center located in northeast Oklahoma City.
The Center, located at 3748 N Lincoln Blvd., is expected to open to members Dec. 7. Membership information is available by calling (405) 427-3222.
Community Health Centers has operated health and wellness facilities in northeastern Oklahoma County since 1973, providing affordable health care across Oklahoma. The organization is a private, nonprofit healthcare organization.
“For years, we have provided high quality, affordable care to residents throughout the Oklahoma City metro area,” Community Health Centers CEO Isabella Lawson said. “Offering spaces for recreation and holistic wellbeing is a necessary step to improve the health outcomes of the residents in our northeast Oklahoma City community. The center will provide wellness and social connections for people ages 50 and up. Community Health Centers of Oklahoma will host a wide variety of classes, activities and health resources inside the MAPS 3 facility.

The facility is designed to host many types of recreation and health resources. The facility includes a heated combination lap and therapy pool, fitness center, gym, game room, classroom space for art and programs, computer area, demonstration kitchen, social spaces and an elevated indoor walking and jogging track.
Activities and resources at the MAPS 3 facility will include:
- Games: bingo, dominos, puzzles, pool tables, checkers/chess, card games.
- Health Classes: Yoga, Tai Chi, Line Dancing, Cardio and Stretch, Water Aerobics.
- Recreational Classes: Quilting, gardening, knitting.
- Activities/Sports: Basketball, pickleball, walking trail, art and crafts.
- Health resources: Nutrition classes, cooking demonstrations, health education classes, genealogy, physical therapy and personal training.
The senior center is the third of four included in MAPS 3, with a fifth coming as part of MAPS 4.
Membership will be $25 with no joining fees, and fees are based on a “sliding fee” schedule. The facility will operate Monday – Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and will be closed on Sundays.

MAPS 3 is a $777 million, voter-approved capital improvement program to improve the quality of life in Oklahoma City. It is funded by a temporary 1-cent sales tax that began in April 2010 and ended in December 2017. MAPS 3 funds eight projects: Downtown Convention Center, Downtown Public Park, Modern Streetcar/Transit, Oklahoma River Improvements, Oklahoma State Fairgrounds Improvements, Senior Health and Wellness Centers, Trails and Sidewalks.
