Lake Hefner Drive along the north side of Lake Hefner (aka the Dam Road) will close to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic, including cars, motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, and other non-motorized vehicles, beginning Monday, February 14 so contractors can repair cracks and repave parts of the road. The closure also extends to use of the sidewalk. City officials expect the road to re-open March 31, 2022, pending weather or other delays.
Construction barriers will be placed on the dam road entrance at Britton Road on the west side of Lake Hefner, and adjacent to the northeast parking lot on the east side of the lake.
Only contractor trucks and vehicles with the Oklahoma City Utilities and Public Works departments will be allowed access during construction.
For more information about the closure, contact Brent Ward with the Oklahoma City Utilities Department at (405) 297-2422. A map of the construction site and restricted areas are available at www.okc.gov/water.
