Council encourages careful consideration of State Question 777
The Council voted to approve a resolution that encourages voters in Oklahoma City to carefully consider the consequences of State Question 777, which is on the statewide election ballot Nov. 8. If SQ 777 is approved, it could result in extensive and expensive litigation against the City of Oklahoma City in opposition to the City's efforts to guarantee an ample water supply at a reasonable rate charged to residwents. It could also further limit the City's authority to enact land use regulations that are critical to the health, safety and welfare of our community.
Oklahoma City's August sales tax report issued
The August sales tax report shows General Fund collections in Oklahoma City were down 6 percent compared to the same month last year, below the monthly projection by 5.6 percent. The August report includes collections for the last half of June and estimated collections in the first half of July, which total about $17.6 million for the General Fund.
