City Manager James D. Couch announced today the selection of Paul Bronson as General Services Director.

The City conducted a nationwide search for the position.

Bronson has worked for the City of Oklahoma City for 28 years, 26 with the Public Works Department. His previous position was Assistant Public Works Director.

“Paul has clearly demonstrated his professionalism, leadership and experience over nearly three decades of working for our residents,” said Couch. “He’s earned the opportunity to lead General Services with his dedication and commitment to a high standard of service.”

The General Services Department manages City of Oklahoma City fleet vehicles and buildings.

Bronson will oversee 71 employees in three divisions:

  • Administration
  • Fleet Management
  • Facility Asset Management

“I’ve worked closely with several of my new coworkers in General Services during my time in Public Works, so I feel very confident we’ll have a smooth transition,” said Bronson. “I’ll miss working with the great employees in Public Works. I consider them friends as well as coworkers. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity and look forward to getting started.”

Bronson earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Waynesburg (Pa.) College and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Oklahoma.
