(December 22, 2011) - Todd Engineering, Inc. principal David Todd has been selected by City Manager Jim Couch to head Oklahoma City’s MAPS office.
As the MAPS program manager, Todd will oversee the implementation of MAPS 3 and MAPS for Kids. He replaces Eric Wenger who was named Public Works Director in August. Wenger will work closely with Todd to ensure a smooth transition as he familiarizes himself with the MAPS office.
“David is an exceptional engineer, problem solver and consensus builder,” Couch said. “He’s got what it takes to successfully lead complex programs like MAPS 3 and MAPS for Kids.”
For the past 16 years Todd owned Todd Engineering, a local firm specializing in site development, drainage, parking lots, bridges, roads and subdivisions. Prior to that, he was the chief engineer for E.D. Hill Surveying and Engineering. Todd also worked as a senior civil engineer specializing in bridge maintenance for the City’s Public Works Department from 1989 to 1994.
Todd graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1987 with a Bachelors of Science in civil engineering. He is the past president of the Oklahoma section of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers and the American Public Works Association.
He serves on the board of directors for the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, is a Leadership Oklahoma City graduate and was the 2006 chairman for Arts Festival Oklahoma. Todd starts his new position on January 3.
Lance Musgrave, the Fire Department’s former business manager, was appointed assistant program manager and business manager for the MAPS office in November.
